The world is not a fair place, and day-to-day it can be hard to always do the right thing. You see damage happening to the world and everything in it - whether they are things you feel you could have changed, or whether you feel helpless against the systems that created these wrongs, you hope to alleviate some of the wrongness with your giving. And you are glad for a side order of being noticed for your giving to boot.
